Day Schedule
Welcome and short safety briefing
Because mornings offer the calmest and clearest conditions, our start time is weather-dependent. We aim to begin around sunrise to maximise your chance of experiencing the iconic reflection of Mount Taranaki at the Pouākai Tarns.
Trail Run (19km with 1,050m elevation gain)
Guided trail run, passing the iconic Pouakai Tarns, the vast Ahukawakawa Swamp, and the more technical sections of track on Mount Taranaki. Along the way, we'll take plenty of moments to catch our breath, soak in the views, refill water bottles, and capture stunning photos.
Healthy Lunch
Nourishing, locally-sourced healthy meal in Taranaki's restaurant with the best views!
Recovery (Optional)
Join us for gentle stretching, focused breathing, and simple recovery techniques to make sure your body feels great and ready for the next adventure.

What fitness level do I need?
This escape requires intermediate running experience and endurance. The trail run is 19km with 1,050m elevation gain, so you should be comfortable with longer distances and elevation changes.
What should I bring?
We'll send a detailed packing list upon booking. Essentials include trail running shoes, comfortable activewear, water bottle, and layers for changing weather.
Is food included?
Yes! A delicious healthy lunch and refreshments are included. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.
What happens if it rains?
We operate in all weather. We have covered spaces for the recovery and mindfulness sessions. The trail run will be adapted based on conditions.
